Jacob Jarvis, Teacher
Jacob started Trousdale in the summer of 2019. He currently lives in Red Bank, Tennessee with his dog Maddux. He has one older brother named Josh and two younger sisters named Cayla and Tiffany, respectively. His mother, Tricia, raised their family in Birchwood, Tennessee and he graduated in the year 2000 from Chattanooga Central High School in Harrison, Tennessee. Jacob played basketball in high school and at Bryan College; he then transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to finish his degree in special education. Jacob has worked as a special education teacher and basketball coach before starting at Trousdale School. He has also coached boys and girls middle school/high school basketball for the past 6 years, and for the past 8 years, Jacob continues to coach special Olympic basketball through his part time job with the City of Chattanooga’s’ Therapeutic Recreation department. Currently,
Jacob sits on the board of directors for the Chattanooga Down Syndrome Society as the Education Chair. He enjoys going to church at Calvary Chapel in Chattanooga and leading an inclusive small group for individuals with down syndrome. He also enjoys backpacking, camping, fly fishing, playing rec league softball/basketball/kickball, and following the Tennessee Vols and the Atlanta Braves.
