Jeanette Young, Specialized Instructor
Jeanette has worked for Trousdale School since April of 2015. In Fall 2017, Jeanette transitioned from Administrative Coordinator to a Specialized Instructor to support staffing needs. As a Specialized Instructor, she leads art, correspondences and chapel. She has been diligently planning a new endeavor – Volunteering in the Community. Students go out into the community each week to visit elderly, assist with chores/yard work or simply spreading cheer. She assists in other classes as needed. Prior to coming to Trousdale School, Jeanette worked as a Youth Director at local churches for five years. A graduate of Lee University, she earned a Bachelor of Music with a minor in Religion.
Jeanette is thrilled to be part of the Trousdale School team. She enjoyed growing up side-by-side among friends with intellectual disabilities, and was honored to teach others during her time in youth ministry. She feels right at home among the staff and students at Trousdale School, and is eager to do what she can to serve the school.
In her spare time, Jeanette loves photography, game nights with friends, coffee, her dog Lucy, and all things British on Netflix. In December 2017, Jeanette married George Young and they reside in Chattanooga.
