Leah Wilson, Teacher & Vocational Coordinator
Leah started as the Physical Education Teacher in December 2012. Leah was born in Cleveland, Tennessee and attended Grace Academy for high school; she was involved in many sports and recreation activities such as tennis, cross country, and track. Leah danced ballet for over 21 years. Leah graduated from Tennessee Tech University with a B.S. degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education and Wellness; she also completed her licensure in K-12 Physical Education. Leah teaches athletics, fitness classes and reading. Prior to teaching at Trousdale School, Leah worked part time at Stuart Elementary School as a Reading Interventionist and was also employed with the YMCA as a personal trainer. In 2013, Leah received her Project HEALTH Certification through the Sports 4 All Organization; she has also attended the TAHPERD Convention for the past 4 years.
As Vocational Coordinator Leah oversees the Trousdale School supported job sites both facility and community based. Additionally, she works with the vocational team to initiate and maintain relationships with potential and current employers, to facilitate training on job sites, and to develop vocationally focused goals and objectives.
Leah and her husband, Tim, live in Chattanooga TN, where they just bought their first home. In their spare time they enjoy playing Rummikub, camping, and going to the lake. Leah and Tim are scuba certified and enjoy traveling. They welcomed their first daughter in July 2016.
