"It is a special place for special people learning different things. When high school ends we need a place for students with a disability to have a place to learn new things."

Life Skills

skillsIn Life Skills classes, students work toward a goal of living on their own with minimal supervision by practicing daily skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, menu planning, and budgeting. Our campus is equipped with a Life Skills Lab, a space set up as a model apartment in which students might one day live. Students make the bed, do laundry, and clean the apartment as if this was their home. Life Skills goals and objectives are evaluated annually in each student’s Individualized Life Plan (ILP). Preparing these men and women to live, work, and be active members of their community truly embodies the vision and mission of Trousdale School to teach “Learning for Life.”
