It’s such an honor to be Eric’s (student since 2017) sister. This school and the opportunities its given him are phenomenal. To watch him grow, thrive and come out of his shell has been the most rewarding thing for me to watch. Thank you Trousdale for your dedication to these students.

Functional Academics

Math, Reading, and Writing classes are the core of our functional academics programming. Our teachers design their curriculum to address the specific needs of the individuals they serve, helping them develop new skills and maintain current skills. In functional academics, students practice everything from reading nutrition labels, to calculating the tip when dining at a restaurant, to filling out an application for employment, to enjoying age-appropriate literature on their reading level. Each student’s goals and objectives in math, reading, and writing are evaluated annually in the Individualized Life Plan (ILP).
