Arts & Recreation

Trousdale School’s Arts and Recreation programming enriches our students’ lives by emphasizing personal fitness and providing opportunities for creative expression. As part of fitness at Trousdale School, students participate in various daily workouts.  They also play a diverse number of sports throughout the year, including basketball, soccer, tennis, disc golf, putt-putt, bocce, volleyball, badminton, and floor hockey.

Visual art, drama, and music classes provide an important creative outlet. Students access the arts through morning special interest classes and a rotation of afternoon electives, with monthly offerings.  In a given month, students may participate in a jam session on a Health Rhythms drum set, learn to play a song on Boomwhackers, participate in an improv skit, collaborate on a papier-mache sculpture, create an acrylic painting, and develop a new embroidery hobby in a craft elective.  Students have annual opportunities to share their talents with their community through our spring community open house and fall community art show.

"When these students are given tools, support and inspiration, they will continue to blossom and grow."

- Tom Johnson, Founder, Trousdale School
